Key Applications

Aircraft fleets depend on bearings that perform reliably through takeoff, flight and landing. When a bearing is damaged, replacement lead times and capacity constraints can delay return to service. You need an approved repair partner that can restore critical components quickly, reduce total cost and support sustainability goals by extending asset life.

Your Challenges

Aircraft fleets depend on bearings that perform reliably through takeoff, flight and landing. When a bearing is damaged, replacement lead times and capacity constraints can delay return to service. You need an approved repair partner that can restore critical components quickly, reduce total cost and support sustainability goals by extending asset life.

Our Solutions

We deliver a complete range of aerospace bearing repair and reconditioning services—including support for many bearings manufactured by companies other than Timken. We serve global air carriers, engine overhaul facilities and military organizations with a single source for inspection, repair and engineering support. Bii services are approved by the FAA, EASA, CAAC and Thailand DCA.

Core repair and reconditioning services include:

  • Inspection and Cleaning: Clean and inspect bearings; replace parts as needed.
  • Reconditioning: Requalify and reassemble bearings to applicable specifications.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform complete inspection to meet appropriate reconditioning requirements.

Programs to improve availability include:

  • PT6 Maximum Availability Program: If a PT6 engine bearing does not pass Level II overhaul, we can provide an overhauled bearing from an exchange pool to help reduce turnaround time. Options may include advance ship exchange or outright purchase of overhauled bearings on select part numbers.

Benefits

We help return aerospace bearings to service faster and at a lower cost than replacement—without compromising performance requirements. Using our proprietary repair and reconditioning processes, customers may extend bearing life by up to four times, reduce costs by up to 50% versus new bearings, and shorten lead times for critical components. Repairing instead of replacing can also reduce energy use and raw material consumption, supporting a more sustainable maintenance approach.
